Just wanted to let you know that Cliff was able to reformat the "How To Set Up A Blues Society" into a document text so I was able to read it (my Adobe Reader is fouled up on my machine and won't open). I visited the Robert's Rules web site, and found a used copy of a book at Amazon and ordered it today.
1 "Robert's Rules in Plain English: A Readable, Authoritative, Easy-to-Use Guide to Running Meetings, 2nd Edition"
Doris P. Zimmerman; Paperback; $3.92
Our first meeting is scheduled for March 16 so I should receive it and have time to check it out a bit before that.

Hawkeye, Thanks for the information, I may be wrong, but heard that any blues society wanting 501C3 status has to be in form of corporation so that we can fundraise. One of the things that is good about this is that dues a blues society would charge can be then written off making it more lucrative to pay for yearly membership in membership drives and fundraising. Even tho it is free as you say under the folk, a society would still have to hire a lawyer to make the corporation.
Heeeeey Hawkeye!!
