Well, probably gonna put my gear back in the pawn shop. I'd rather earn some money playing music with it, but it serves its purpose this way also. I need a bit of extra money to move into an apartment - me and my doggie Mocha.
I'd rather have the Breedlove out so I can play it. I'm really going to try to focus on working as an acoustic artist.
Hi there,
Yes, I got the Strat and amp back. A friend of mine put up the money. A very touching gesture, but now I owe my friend money.
Still have the Breedlove in pawn. I'll get it out soon, when I get paid next week, if I have enough left over.
I'll be out and about soon enough. Had to work a couple Thursdays ago. Last night I visited and jammed with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. It was fun.
Just wondering what's going on with COBS. Nobody is posting on the site. I've put my gear in the pawn shop (will get it out soon), so haven't been making the rounds at the jams.
My second day doing the M-F day shift thing. It's...SWEET! The only bummer is that I only get paid once a month. Can you say BUDGET?
But I have some stuff to study up on, to make a good impression right away. I've been out of the industry for a couple years and it changes rapidly. But it's going very, very well right now.
I'm happy to report that I FINALLY found a decent job. Monday-Friday, day shift, leaving my nights and weekends open for playing a lot more music. It will be a relief to have steady hours and steady income again.
At some point, if things work out right, I'd like to play music more than I work.
I can'tead the comment you left for me but I hope it was ok after attending your meeting. Thanks for letting me sit by you. You guys have it going on and I know it will work. I went to the St. Pady's Day thing tonghit dontown Portland some great local blues. I am a HARMONICA JUNKIE!! I left when John Lee Hooker Jr came on, it was time to go. I am excited about moving to Memphis but don't know what to expect. I read your story about the job issue. I have been unemployed since Aug-laid off after 17 yrs and right now I feel like Cinderella. A week ago I was so down and depressed I didn't know what to do. So all I can say which is going to sound lame but you have to feel it will turn around. Take Crae Marc
Thanks for attending the meeting and for the music last night. We really appreciate your positive input, and offering to do the write up of the meeting :)
Well, Chuck...THANKS! Actually I was a journalism major in college, but didn't think I REALLY wanted to be a news reporter. I know the Bulletin already has Ben Salmon, their music writer. He did such a good job with the COBS article.
I've already told Barb and Cliff that I'd volunteer to work on a COBS newsletter. More stuff like that can be discussed at our first COBS meeting March 16, 6:30 pm at Grover's. Hope to see you there, Chuck.
Welcome Friend,Maybe you should seek a job as a Blues columist?I think that your reportcard is a great way to spread the word and keep all the players informed. Keep on building those bridges!
Garth... there is an acoustic jam? Where? When? Can I play? Also, the guy that played your guitar is Robert Lee... an awesome player. He teaches blues guitar at Cascade School of Music.
Wazz up man. Missed last weeks jam and might miss this weeks too. got a nasty sinus infection, yuck. I'll bring that teli soon for you to check out. Working on re-tubing my fender super. I'll post those results in the gas thread. thought i'de say hy. catch you around.

I did join the Sounding Board group. I like that sort of free form discussion, too.
I'll be at Gnarly Charly's jam at the Northside tonight.
Great job at the Northside on Thursday :)
I just created a new group here called Sounding Board - please join :)
Thanks for a great job on the Bulletin interview :) Membership at COBS has been increasing rapidly since it came out today :)
