Garth Osborn Back to Square One

I thought I had an impending job offer from a company that would have provided me with 2 things I really need right now...a steady income and stable daytime hours. Well, after going thru the recruiting process for 10 days, they passed on me. I'm a bit bummed and am really tired of my current work situation...it's close to intolerable for me because of the spotty work, ridiculous shift changes (days, swings, nights whenever the need arises) and constant staff turnover. So back to square one with… Continue

Cliff A Little Humor I Snagged From Another Group!!

TIPS FOR THE AUDIENCE HOW TO REQUEST A SONG FROM THE BAND When requesting a song from the band, just say "play ... my song!" We have chips implanted in our heads with an unlimited database of the favorite tunes of every patron who ever walked into a bar and all songs ever recorded so feel free to be vague, we love the challenge. If we say we really don't remember that tune you want, we're only kidding. Bands do know every song ever recorded, so keep humming. Hum harder if need be... it… Continue

Garth Osborn Neither Sleet Nor Snow...

...nor menacing winds kept the Thursday night blues jam at the Northside Bar & Grill from happening last night. It was a fun night and a couple guys I work with got to see me play. They didn't stay long, but enjoyed themselves a lot. So did I.

A real treat for me was the chance to hear Robert (don't know his last name) playing my guitar thru my amp. He's a great player and it was nice hearing him coax some sweet singing tones from my rig. Strat, 3 pedals and the amazing Laney amp.

Garth Osborn Sick of Being Sick!

Just wanting to feel NORMAL again. This is Friday and I've been pretty ill since Tuesday. I am feeling a little better, but am really sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Will kick off the Front Porch Acoustic Jam & Open Mic at Grover's this Sunday, January 20, 2008. Not real sure of the time, but I think Dan Chavers used to do the open mic there at 6 p.m. If that's okay with Mike, I'll stick to the 6-8 p.m. time slot, to get folks home early on Sunday evening. Times may vary wi

Garth Osborn Am I a Blues Player?

I've wondered for a long time if I am a blues player. In the past I played in straight country bands, country-rock bands and classic rock bands. Always played a few blues tunes here and there.

Growing up, I cut my teeth on guys and bands that are considered blues players or blues-rock bands. Cream and Clapton. The Allman Brothers Band. Rory Gallagher. Deep Purple. Foghat. Rolling Stones. Johnny Winter. ZZ Top. The Who. Okay, The Who is just a rock band, but I got a lot of my rhythmic s

Christine Louise Hutchinson EMBRACE OF WARMTH blanket drive and live concert on March 15th 2008 Sat.,3 to 6pm at Cozmic.

HAPPY NEW YEAR YA ALL, HOPE YOUR HOLIDAYS WERE BLUESIN.

Hey Barb, if I send you in regular email the more bolder flyer for the above event, that actually has the proper address of 199 -8th St in downtown Eugene (not not not 7th), would it be possible to put it in the website (please remove that thin printed old one)?

I have filed "Embrace Of Warmth" as a 501c3 (non-profit) organization. Expecting that darlin' "official" piece o' paper from the State by this Friday.

I have

Christine Louise Hutchinson EMBRACE OF WARMTH blanket drive and live concert on March 15th 2008 Sat.,3 to 6pm at Cozmic.

Hey, my fellow Blue-sers (and folksters, and rockers, and jazzers), The last three weeks I have been putting together blankets and musicians, secured the venue and so far two confirmed sets, another is definite maybe/spoke with one of the lead men in the group yesterday, and one set is left to fill. I need volunteers to help post flyers, of which my son Taylor and I are trying to figure out the art program that our dear friend - you know whooooo u r - loaned us. As you will see from the post
