I am the President of the Cascade Blues Association in Portland, just about to start my seventh year in that role (May). I am a performance photographer specializing in blues musicians and currently write for the CBA's BluesNotes newspaper. I make annual treks to Memphis, where I help with the production of the International Blues Challenge in a number of roles. My writing and photos have appeared in numerous publications and CD covers. Slim Lively is the name I use to note my blues contributions as my true name Greg Johnson is such a common name, I need to differentaite myself from others.
I only wish she was still going to be around for the CBA, as she starts her new job in Memphis with The Blues Foundation next month. It is almost like lopping off my right arm in many aspects.
Great first meeting last night, and Marc was in attendance! She was great, answering a myriad of questions and exhibiting lots of patience. She's a fine asset to the CBA.
I think the venue most apt to be interested would be
The Summit Saloon & Stage
125 NW Oregon Ave.
Down Town Bend, Or.
749-2440
If you contact COBS member Glenn Brookman he can most likely tell you the owner's names - there are several. Glenn hosts an invitational Blues jam at this venue.
I just created a new group called Sounding Board - your input would be welcome. Please join :)

I am in now. I will check on whats happening in that area. Yes I would like to play there. I have a time share in Eagle Crest so it would be nice if I could actually use it sometime.

What a natural. I heard Aretha and Etta all mixed into one voice. My feeling is if they had not given it to TUF, they would have been idiots!
Did you see them perform? And what a guitar player in the band, huh?!
What a great win.
Welcome to COB. Share those great pictures of yours with us!
