Hey my dear fellow Blues-ers, how are you?
who can I blame for making this day go so fast?
Last Sunday, Secret House Vineyard rocked for a second time Mema concert. We had the Northwest Harmonica Blowoff Championship with Bill Rhoades - frontman of The Party Kings - Mcing...great to see him and his wife Cindy again. Blue Owens won the championship, I am thrilled, so proud of him. Was sitting next to him when his name was announced. The Ty Curtis Band played with our local fella Hank who is really coming into his own as well...they are so young 21 and 20, all developing a more solid on stage personality. Fiona Boyes, from Australia and Portland, wow! love her earthyness, lovely quick conversation with her when she arrived with our mutual friend, bass extrodinaire David Kahl (who, as most of you know, played in Paul DeLay's band). Always great to see Dave, beautiful spirit. Check Fiona's my space and listen to her song about curves. Henry Cooper, and Lloyd Jones and his band The LJ Struggle also performed. Our blues icon Eagle Park Slim also hit the stage with the fellas. So much fun, so tired, so dirty, home in bed by 11pm...long day considered I was up around 4am. Slept off on a couple of times all day Monday. Tuesday I was full of energy...and damn something happened today...was up at 6am hour but by 11am I curled on my mountain of pillows on my bed and didn't wake up until my son Taylor greeted me when he got home from work at...get this...3pm. My immediate response : Hi my love...I looked outside and at the clock, and said oh shit where did the day go "Slap my hand and call me stupid"...yes, that is what blurted out of me mouth. Oh, there are a slew of photos from the event in my My Space.
