Good morning everyone, up since 4am...hey, it is cooler than the 100 degrees of yesterday and the same expected for today...planning on attending Saturday Market for great music of Baquana Tea.
I really believe it is vital to have suitable venues for people under 21 and there really is not that many. It gets kinda' boring to bring the younguns into places that serve alcohol because REALLY what kind of influence is that giving them watching too many people get loaded. Thank goodness for parks like Island, and the one by the UO-Eugene...and the venue Cozmic in downtown Eugene. Lane Community College has a fine drama dept and building for many a show. Then one has the expensive venues to rent, The Cuthbert (outdoor) Theater b y the river, The McDonald Theater, The WOW Hall, and a few other places. Our state has a huge amount of talented children and kudos go to one of our local promoters, Cindy Ingram who does a few yearly events, like KidsRock, that showcases many upcoming musicians. She is a go getter and also helps with The Eugene Celebration.
One week from today, on August 23rd, here in Springfield (Oregon), my (all too) soon to be 19 year old (eeks, the last of "The Teenage Years") will be performing at two locales.
The first concert is at 10am at The Church Of The Brethren at 1072 Main Street.
Probably an hour concert. It is a Flute Ensemble that T was asked to be a part of about a year ago.
The next concert that day is at Island Park and features The Willamette Valley Community Concert Band...think T is playing his sax on this one...maybe his flute. That concert starts at 1pm, probably an hour-hourhalf. Island Park is just off Main Street, at the end of A and/or B Streets...close to the river.
IF you happen to be in the area, come on by.
Believe me after the concerts, we'll return to the AIR CONDITIONED house for dinner. Come join the music and feast.
As a musician (rusty as all get out)...when my arm gets better from the lockjaw dog attack, I will melt into my piano again. Goal is by next Summer to not be so rusty (or so afraid) to perform (again).
By the way, my son is selling his (whoa baby, hot blood shiny red) electric guitar for $125.00. You can contact him through me at: Hutchhaven@comcast.net
and 541/915-0902. for the details. He needs dah' cash.
Let us support whole heartedly the next generation of Bluesers and Jazzers and Rockers...and yes, even the glorious Classical.

AND THEN
on Veterans Day, my non profit org - Embrace Of Warmth - will be sponsoring the annual Veterans Day Reunion, Dinner, and Concert. Details will be posted in my My Space: myspace.com/hazzahmamac. World War II Veteran, Mr. Bill Montana, this yearly event (he has done for 18 years) is his baby. He is looking for financial support to bring into town some speakers, he has a lot of food donated but also needs help with food purchases. I am booking more of the entertainment and I would like to pay each musician $50 dollars each for their set. Any donations for this event can be made to any Liberty Bank under the name of me and the org's name.
Aaaahhhhh, the sun is coming up slowly. Think I will go back to sleep until 10. It was 90 degrees at 9pm last night! Give me no higher than 80 and I am oneheckavahappycamper.
Enjoy the day
