Blues By The Sea August 14th 15th & 16th 2008
The Show

We start the festival with the legendary jam at The Ghost Hole Tavern. This place is very nice. It has a larger outdoor patio lots of seating and is only two blocks from the festival site. So on Thursday night bring your talent to The Ghost Hole and help us kick the festival jam off goes 9pm 1 pm .
Then wake up Friday morning to the sites and sounds of the Pacific ocean.Have your coffee and get ready for the best of Tillamook county blues with Bill Pristine & Blues Souls. After Bill gets the party started KG Jackson will take the stage . Ken is one of my favorite song writers and singers. He has added his wife Candy to his band and you might say theses guys are sweet (not just sweethearts). Then up next is Fifth Of Funk. I ran across these guys at an open mic. They took me by surprise when they Funked it up.If your not dancing yet, they will get you dancing.
Then hold on to your hats when the Ben Rice Band takes the stage with grace and power. I have watched as Ben and the band have proven to be a strong show every performance . Then to close out the night is Voodoo BBQ steps in with Mark Bosnian- Keys, Accordian, Vox.
Mark is an award-winning songwriter (Grand Prize - Portland Music Assoc. Songwriter's Contest) and was voted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2001. As a member of national acts Nu Shooz and Body & Soul, he toured the U.S. and played on The Pat Sajak Show. His song "Don't Stop Now" was recorded by Vanilla Fudge on their reunion album. Mark's CD "Shed My Skin" was featured as one of the best independent albums by Perfoming Songwriter Magazine. Locally, Mark has performed live on KINK, Z100, KEX, KGW TV, AM Northwest, and Good Day Oregon, and has sung the National Anthem numerous times at Portland Trailblazer games. "Bosnian has impressive songwriting skills. His tunes are distinguished by their memorable hooks and intelligent lyrics." --The Oregonian "A very talented composer and performer. I'm impressed with his versatility and his ability to work with all types of music." --Les Sarnoff, KINK FM
Then lendary jam starts at the Ghost Hole with the Hudson Rocket Band.
Get a good nights sleep and get ready for more fun with[
Dover Weinberg. He is a remarkably talented keyboardist who has proven his mettle by playing with a long list of Blues notables - not only local luminaries like Duffy Bishop, Paul deLay, Ellen Whyte, Jim Mesi and Lloyd Jones, but also all-time greats like Robert Cray, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, Big Walter Horton, Charlie Musselwhite, Sonny Rhodes and Phillip Walker. "Some people say, 'You can't hold a job!'" Weinberg jokes. "They call me the Blues Slut because I've played with everybody."

Next up is the nine piece R&B act of The Ken Derochie Band ....KDB comes out of Portland and this band is full of top-notch talent. Several Grammy nominees and winners make up the band. And you can tell just by listening to this track that these guys really know how to play. Not just in a technical way, but in a melodic way of knowing when to play and when to just lay back and let it ride.
Then a festival favorite takes the stage with The Hudson Rocket Band, old school electric blues. They play the blues so you don’t have to.
Up next The Joe McMurrian Quartet is made up of David lipkind on harmonica, Jimi Bott on Drums and Jason Honl on bass.
JMQ have been rapidly gaining recognition across the Great Northwest and world with their intense, deeply progressive high energy music.
Gut renching emotion and energy transitioning to graceful melodies, complex harmonies and challenging meter chages make for some
of the most powerfull Roots/Blues music around. The sound is rooted in Delta Blues and Old American Roots music.toJoe McMurrian guitar vocals.
WWe are not done yet as Bucket of Blues featuring Wendy Dewitt takes the stage. She plays the gospel of Chicago based blues piano and boogie woogie to enthusiastic audiences. She’s well steeped in the stylings of Otis Spann, Memphis Slim, Sunnyland Slim and Albert Ammons and honed her skills working with contemporary greats Steve Freund, Otis Rush and the late Hank Ballard. Joining Wendy will be Bolt Upright with the Atomic horns and Ken “ Honey Bucket “ Johnson . We got more with Peter Dammann, DK Stewart , David Vest , Kenny "BluesBoss" Wayne "One of the true "missing links" between the past and modern-day blues piano players, Kenny Wayne has taken the music of past masters and welded a style all his own""One of the true "missing links" between the past and modern-day blues piano.

We got some things in the works for Sunday more information to follow on that .

In addition to all this fun you have helped fight hunger and I thank you all for your support. Well what do think ?? We would like to offer COBS a vending space @ BBTS 2008
